Jefferson Plein Air

The Arts Alliance of Greater Jefferson (AAGJ) is sponsoring an outdoor painting event and competition this coming summer.  Up to 30 artists will be capturing, on their canvases, our historic buildings, churches, the beautiful Rock and Crawfish rivers, landscapes and other points of interest throughout Jefferson over three days, June 28th, 29th and 30th.  Their framed artwork (up to 3 pieces each) will be displayed and sold over Saturday and Sunday, July 1st and 2nd, at the Woolen Mills in the Jefferson Area Business Center.

The judges for the event are William A. Suys, Jr, Paula Swaydan-Grebel, and Terrence Coffman.  They will be judging the paintings the Saturday morning prior to the sale beginning.  The AAGJ plans to award between $2000 – $3000 in prize money dependent on the finalization of sponsors and donations.

The AAGJ is currently accepting artists registration for this event.  Forms and details can be found on the Plein Air tab of our website.
